This is a problem with SO many trailers today, but you're right that it's most prevalent with horror trailers. So many times the first 45 seconds to minute of the trailer I'm thinking "Alright, I'm interested." and by the minute and a half mark all the curiosity and mystery is gone. My husband has actually told me numerous times "OK, turn the trailer off if you actually want to see this." and then I realize he's right. I really liked what Paranormal Activity 3 did, which was use a bunch of scares in the trailer that Didn't end up in the movie! I thought that was pretty brilliant, and should be done more often. I remember the trailer for The conjuring giving away most of the best scares, and the trailer for The Town giving away basically the entire plot complete with what I assume was supposed to be the twist at the end. I wish they would stop doing this. Is there any way to find out who is responsible for individual trailers? Aren't they outsourced to specialists who do pretty much only trailers?

I think there are some yahoos in Hollywood right now spinning that the audience actually WANTS to know what happens. That we enjoy the familiar. Also, that if it makes a compelling trailer, who cares if the film is?

Actually, watching the trailer was perfect. Now I don't need to pay to see the movie that includes all the filler not good enough to make the 135 second cut.
