I think Trevor Noah's jokes would be funnier if he were funny. As it stands, he's just so smarmy and smug that it's hard to empathize with him. He has the misfortune of looking like an underwear model; bland good looks always seem to stunt comedians.

But I'm with @1 and @3: I've heard Trevor Noah lots of times on the radio in Australia, and seen him on TV, and I've always very much enjoyed his stuff.
I'll be interested to see how Ronny Chieng does as a correspondent too: he's always been fantastic in Australia.
