"Old myths die hard."

Or is it possible your Lyft driver knows more about Harding through her one-degree-of-separation than the 5-year-old version of you does?

ps- real victim here: Nancy Kerrigan. Who did not have to plead guilty to obstruction of justice charges and see all her friends go to jail. Just sayin'.

LOL. I see the misandrists of Seattle once again are the victims. She was a jealous, greedy, self-promoting witch who wanted to win and would take anyone out who got it her way and now she is just trying to stay relevant as she ages into oblivion. She knew her part, the pubic knew it and anyone who knew “OJ did it”, knew she was involved. If she were as innocent as she claims to be then she wouldn’t have been stripped of her titles and “banned for life” from the competitive aspect of sport. I doubt the real victim, Nancy Kerrigan, would blame sexism for Tonyas actions

Neither Harding nor Kerrigan was a saint, although the US Figure Skating Association kept trying to paint Kerrigan as one. While Kerrigan was recovering from her injury before the Olympics, she began an affair with her married sports agent that broke up his marriage. He gave custody up rights to his young children to get the divorce to marry her. Kerrigan's family was equally as violent. Her brother was charged with manslaugher in the 2010 death of their 70 year-old father.

Anybody who views figure skating as a "white gloves" sport has been led to do so by the sport's powerful PR machine. Several world class skaters fell on hard times after their careers ended with alcoholism, drug abuse, overdose deaths, and jail time among some high-profile US and international skaters. Almost every Olympics in recent memory has brought controversies over corrupt judging.

Just because figure skating looks so ethereal doesn't mean it's not a rough and tumble sport. It is just that, and the Tonya-Nancy brouhaha was a peek at the dark underbelly of it.
