"It's been a while since I heard any movie audience react with as much laughter and enthusiasm–and gasps...". Don't forget "tears". While there was more laughter than anything else, this movie got really real at points, and brought every gay in the audience right back to some painful times they've lived. This movie got so much right; it is a fantastic as a general coming of age movie, but in the genre of "gay movies" or "coming out movies", it is the best I've ever seen.
I don't always agree with The Stranger's reviews, but in this case I do. Love, Simon was a blast. It made me a laugh and cry, which is very unusual. In the end, it made me happy!
