@1, I agree. I was trying to come up with some way to express my exhaustion at people not being able to even say they enjoy something without the caveat of whether or not it addressing racial/gender bias in the post Trump/MeToo era sufficiently, even if the title of the film predates it by 2 decades. But I gave up. It is satire at this point. Intentionally or not.

That was an unnecessary walk to go on just to call Jonah Hill a privileged asshole. The brief compliments distract the reader, but then comes the bitter lecturing. I hope someday he makes a movie that gets to distributors in time to be woke enough for your mood at that moment.

i was surprised by the quality of the direction. shades of the verite of La Haine, Kids... more than just nostalgia for nostalgia sake, there was quite nice expressions of humanism. not that I am a Jonah Hill mega-fan, but he pretty much nailed it minus maybe a couple little small details. soundtrack must have cost hundo-thouz

So it is too patriarchal? FFS its a movie about boys and young men. Why send in a one dimensional girl to review it? Her perspective is so limited. The movie sounds great.
