Sean and Gillian both have a very limited and faulty understanding of the Dead, their fans, and what the community represents. The Grateful Dead was one fo the few bands that produced music that literally changed people's lives and ways of interpreting the world. Intentionally or not, Jerry and the boys created something much larger than themselves, something that could be embraced by folks from all walks of life. It came from the bluegrass, jazz, psychadelic rock, and whatever else they decided to play. Listen to Peggy-O, and if you aren't moved and don't understand what I'm talking about, then you are incable of embracing music on a level that is greater than just the notes being played and the words being sung.
