A Film Series to Kill Your Daily-Journalism Nostalgia

Face it, Ray Milland. He’s just not that into you.

Ace in the Hole is a great movie. Kirk Douglas' face is amazing.
2
"The Big Clock" was re-made into one of the few good Kevin Costner movies: "No Way Out."

I have both of these on DVD so I'll have to rewatch them. Surely this series has more than two movies. What are the others?
4
Jan Sterling has a great line in Ace In The Hole. When another character suggests that she go to church, Ms. Sterling says "I never go to church. Kneeling bags my nylons".
5
I just saw The Big Clock. Charles Laughton was a truly gifted screen actor whose work has been lost in time. He's simply wonderful here as the pompous, bullying, and loathsome publishing emperor, Janoth.

Incidentally, newspapers didn't start being "objective" until the latter half of the 20th century. In their heyday, they were little different in ethics than your modern television news.

In fact, one of the most notorious violators of what we now consider journalistic integrity was one Mr. W. R. Hearst.

This is an exceptionally good film festival. There are some real rare gems here. For a film by film breakdown see http://www.andynicastro.blogspot.com/
