Mon Oncle is so easy to love. The secretary's trot is comic perfection. I"ve never seen Playtime and Trafic on the screen, so thank you for the notice.

I just saw Playtime a few nights ago. I didn't think it was very clever or enjoyable. It was painful. But not the good, Bergmanesque painful.

Didn't you write something like this just two years ago?

"Playtime" and "Monsieur Hulot's Holiday" are on the British Film Institute's Top 50 Films a Child Should Watch Before the Age of 14. Wonder how many kidlets will appreciate Tati's canon.

@2 - To each his own. I admire Bergman, but find him excrutiating. Tati, on the other hand, I could watch for days at a time.

I've always wondered why Bergman and Tati never made a film together.

Please wait...
