just finished viewing this film. as tragic as it was, i'm still not sure about the message it was attempting to deliver. ryan gosling and michelle williams had strong chemistry to say the least, and are two modern actors worth watching. but ultimately i guess it gets chalked-up to young kids in an emotional (and ultimately destructive) relationship, a baby enters the picture, and a premature marriage. their dynamic unravels when pressed with real-world hardships. it's a subtle, yet painful, slice-of-life story. if you want a fairy-tale love affair, this isn't it.
