The film shows his home as being in Westchester, NY, Paul. Not in England. But the childhood scene (where "Westchester, New York" is displayed at the bottom of the screen) comes just before the movie jumps forward to after he graduated Oxford, so maybe that's the cause for the confusion?

And yes, there are plenty of plot holes, but this film is really great entertainment. I thought it showed respect for the source material and even the previous film franchise, and still surpassed it.

it's a superhero movie. i did giggle at it being very mad men meta. everyone loves the early sixties now.
