BBC Radio did a dramatization of the source novel in five 30-minute episodes that gets rebroadcast every year or so (and is then available on the internet for about a week), and that I'd rate better than you rated the movie. The story is a perfectly good thriller tale, even if the twists and surprises are a bit hackneyed at this point. Probably better to listen to the audio version (or a full-length book-on-tape, at almost twelve hours) while doing something else than to sit in a chair and watch it for two hours.
