Far From the Madding Crowd, the novel, is, in my opinion, 'far from' dry. It completely captivated my teenaged self in 11th grade lit class. All of Thomas Hardy's novels are surprisingly readable, given their age. This is probably why many of them have made it to the modern screen: Tess of the D'Urbervilles, Jude the Obscure, etc. If you're in a reading mood, they're definitely worth checking out.

The title of this article really rankles. I didn't even bother reading the full review because what's worse than being dry is being asinine. Two thumbs way, way down.

I'm kind of stunned by how shallow, ignorant, and poorly written your film reviews are (I've read all that appear with a search on your name). They all amount to either: "I liked it," or "I didn't like it." Really? They pay you for this?
