...and it looks like things were a mess in the kitchen there:
• Potentially hazardous foods at unsafe temperatures
• Improper cooling of potentially hazardous foods
• Inadequate facilities to control temperatures of potentially hazardous foods
• Poor personal hygiene practices
• Equipment/utensils not properly sanitized
• Handwashing facilities not working
• Toxic items not stored properly
• Failure to correct repeated violations
• Refrigeration unit not repaired as directed
Haven't seen one this bad since the 2005 shut-down of the Jade Pagoda (RIP!) for (among many other violations) "Material found in food (e.g. moldy, dented cans of food, bugs in food)," the presence of pests and improperly labeled toxic chemicals, and "pooling of eggs."
The marketing department down at Baja Fresh headquarters in Cypress, California, isn't answering right now for comment.
