@2 then try the five spice chicken pho at 'the lemongrass ' on 12th and jackson.( that was is slightly better than the one up the street from seattle u. ) and don't forget to add the lime and sliced peppers.
Oh, hells yes! Love me some Pho! My favorite hole in the wall is Pho Thy Thy on the Ave between 41st and 42nd. Some people say their service is rude and stark. Nope, they give you exactly what you want, in a manner of moments. "Small Number One, please." for $5 plus tax. Perfection. No messing around. Don't forget to add the Vietnam Basil, pretty much all the leaves they give you.
When I was in third grade, my report card got sent home. All A's except an F in table manners. My parents and especially my Grandmother were pretty pissed. All I could think was, "I don't ever remember taking any classes in table manners, how can they grade me on this?" Flash-forward 20 years, my Vietnamese friend Phong introduced me to Pho. He told me about how in Vietnam, there would be whole halls full of people eating Pho, making a wild racket with all their slurping. At that point I knew it was the food for me.
Than Brothers just opened a new restaurant in Lower Queen Anne a couple months ago, and I've already lost count of how many times I've eaten there. Walking distance from home, now I no longer have to bus to get some. Yay!
