Do they have any live webcams there?

Been here several times since they opened. I have to agree...the preserved lemon in the tuna sandwich is magic. Try the jamĂłn y queso bocadillo with added bacon. Fabulous!

The pan con tomate is not a classic Spanish toast but a Catalan one

@3: Chico Madrid is using the non-Catalan name—pan con tomate—so I called it a Spanish snack. If they used pa amb tomàquet, I'd have called it Catalan. Also, Catalonia is IN Spain, so...

@4 Well, not as far as the Catalans are concerned: http://thestatelessman.com/2013/04/15/fr…

@5: Yes, of course. I mean no slight to them. All who are concerned about this issue should clearly write strongly worded letters to Chico Madrid about how they've named their toast with tomato pulp on it!

A nice lunch, and I liked the manchego and tomato pulp. I did feel a little transported, but now I'm confused about where I went.

It's nice to have some truly authentic Spanish food in town, that isn't overly fancy or infused with Northwest flavors. It's the only place outside Spain I've ever had excellent tortilla. Also, they are very nice.

Oh, and the guy who wants to split hairs about pan con tomate... please get over yourself. It's eaten in other parts of Spain as well, although you are correct it is of Catalan origin.
