Louie's is closing in Ballard on Sunday June 29. Raymond Ip is also looking for a new space.

That script in the back, Japanese writing? It kind of looks like a Rorschach test. I see rape, murder, cuss words....oh no, time for censorship. Pull this comment from view. Comment policy. My mind is trolling. But before you practice Slog censorship......Thanks for a good idea on dinner tonight!

Uh...Daisuke was not Shiro's "protégé ". Not by a long shot.

@4
“Protégé” is a fancy word that Bethany apparently either doesn’t understand the meaning of or know how to use correctly.

Shiro Kashiba: laurel-resting and over-charging since at least as long as I've lived here.

Most mediocre sushi experience I've had in Seattle, possibly in my life.
7
i ate there once in the 90s. shiro sounds a bit dotty, frankly.

Frequented Shiro's until I had an even $200 charge come though on my card for a $57 bill (including a tip rate over 20%).
Never crossed their door again. I've heard other people say they had the same experience.

We'd need one more only if the experience measured up to Nikko on King Street.

@2: No. Capitol Hill gets conveyor belts, and it suits there very well. Capitol Hill is pretty much Bellevue these days. I miss Marketime.

Okay, I would prefer south of the Ship Canal, and if the only way that can work is Capitol Hill, maybe... Best would be a beat up old building in the ID.

Thanks for everything Shiro, can't wait to eat at new restaurant!

Our favorite, Shiro's sushi as well as him as a person are top rate. Was going to go for my birthday next week but will have to wait!

Please wait...
