You totally left out the best parts about the Polish House dinners -the pickle soup (amazing!) and bison grass vodka and apple juice from the bar (the Polish beers are worth a try too).
2
While jars of Mama Lil’s peppers are wonderful ... buying them from the bulk bin at Madison Mkt (at the corner of cheese and deli) means they aren’t pasturized and thus, even more scrumptious/healthy.

Dammit Angela, stop giving away my spots to the transplant. One must earn the knowledge of these gems by exploring neighborhoods and experimenting for yourself. If there are now Pasceo lines for my tamales, I'm blaming you.

@1, yes, the pickle soup.

Also, they have a Polish fest every year, if people would feel more comfortable around more strangers, good times and good stuff!
5
please edit out the Polish Home from this article. it's crowded enough.

i'm 1/4 polish & 1/4 prussian, so its ok if I go. just not anyone else.
6
Pretty sure they stopped doing the tamales at Bendicion. They were great though.
7
Another vote for La Conasupo -- great quesadillas for lunch.
8
I think it's a one pound minimum for cheese at PFI, except they waive that for the more expensive cheeses...
9
One pound minimum, but they've never enforced it as far as I can tell.
10
The correct address for La Bendicion Tienda Mexicana is 2544 Beacon Ave S. 2256 puts it in the middle of a greenbelt/residential street.

one spot you may not know of is a little Russian grocery store called European Foods up in North Seattle off Aurora with a little restaurant tuck away inside.
If you want Russian food THIS IS THE PLACE.
They do it right.
