Despite Cienna Madrid's disdain for the overtly spiritual/religious/devotional elements of Travelers that set it apart from other places to eat Indian food and constitute much of what makes Travelers Travelers (and why people who aren't like Cienna Madrid go there), she is right about the food. It's a great place.

I've been going to Travelers since the winter of 1997. And I came to the realization that Travelers is akin to a magnificent artichoke. You keep peeling back the leaf layers which are succulent until you come to the heart. People ask me to describe Travelers and I have to tell them go and keep peeling back the layers. Is it a store that specializes in all sorts of items from India? Yes. Is it a place with incredible food? Yes. Is it a 'salon' where people gather to exchange ideas? Yes. Is it a place to come into contact with incredible spiritual teachers and fellow practitioners? Yes. It is all that and yes............much, much more.

Please wait...
