Where did you get the idea that the KAWAYAN GRILL is new? It's been in the same location for several years.

@1: It is relatively new: It was formerly known as Kawali Grill, which was also a Filipino diner-type place. I understand it's under new ownership, plus new name. The changeover took place at the beginning of the year. Have you been, before the new year or since? Did you like it?

@2 Sorry but changing the owner and 3 letters in the name does not a new restaurant make, especially when the menu, website and building look almost exactly the same as before. Not to bag on the place, I've eaten there a number of times over the last 3 years and always enjoyed it, and my Filipino friends say it's the closest thing to legit Filipino food in Seattle. I hope the owner shuffling doesn't screw that up, as there's little else calling me to that barren stretch of Rainier.
