Well, guess I can trash my nearly filled Kiku punch card. I always liked the place and I think it was there since I went to elementary school across the street.
Shame about Carmelita. Clearly, the place was a success. Clearly, it had a great run. I just wish places like that could become the sorts of institutions that go on indefinitely.
Rents are impossibly high for small business restaurants. Its a wonder any individual eatery can survive in this economic climate. That's why we see the same owners with multiple establishments.
I think it's opening in November.
