It should be noted that the old Eastlake Teriyaki was not really aligned price-wise with most teriyaki joints in Seattle (especially like on the Ave). For most products -- pho, teriyaki, bahn mi, etc. -- it was usually a good $1-3 more than what you'd consider the going rate. Since there weren't competing restaurants in the neighborhood, we always called this the "Eastlake surcharge."
So while $9.50 is a lot to pay for teriyaki (and more than I personally want to pay), it's not like $5.99 teriyaki was available in this space before.
5.99 teriyaki? What? You live 20 years ago or something? This is 2013, for god's sake, and the average teriyaki price is more like 7.50 and above. Please get real with your prices next time around.
