I've been staying healthy and paying a penalty since ACA was enacted (health insurance went from 310 to 980 a month) and you're bragging about 700k in hospital bills? Guess how I feel about that, Matthew? Like maybe you're not contributing at the same rate as you're detracting and I'm going to be glad when I am no longer penalized by your unfortunate health.

Considering that Romneycare preceded Obamacare, it is reasonable to postulate that Romney would have ingratiated himself with Harry Reid enough to get a better version of the ACA that gave the GOP some of what it wanted: tort reform - which would have probably would have done it by itself.

@9: I could very be wrong, but I seem to recall that there have been none to very little actual penalties enacted against taxpayers for failing to meet the ACA mandate. The law allows for lapses and there are waivers.
