The Stranger, Seattle’s award-winning news and arts publication, is seeking a new editor.

The Stranger aims to cover Seattle in smart, engaging, challenging, and surprising ways. We ask tough questions, provide well-researched answers, and offer unique insights into the political and cultural lives of our city.

This editor will supervise five writers and another editor, and also work closely with the publisher and marketing team to promote our online publication.

The right candidate can work collaboratively with writers on long-form, reported features and make editorial decisions about which breaking news stories we can and should cover. This person loves the written/pixelated word, sees interactive and multimedia potential in every story, and recognizes both the opportunities and risks inherent in social media. The right candidate can also work with a sense of urgency while giving regular, considered feedback to writers.

Writing and editing experience is required, as is a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Please send resume and salary requirements to editorjob@thestranger.com.
