@1 There isn't necessarily a lot the cops can do in this situation. Best hope: file a police report and keep searching for the phone. Maybe it'll turn up in a pawn shop or on craigslist.
@5 That part made me scratch my head too. I mean, I've had things stolen while I lived in an apartment complex, so I dunno haha. I do usually get my packages delivered to my work when I live in apartment complexes. But I certainly don't go around stealing things myself.
@5 & 6 - "Of course it's an apartment" refers to the fact that it's impossible to know where the phone is because it's in an apartment complex. You know, lots of apartments instead of just one house. This isn't about accusing apartment dwellers of being criminals. Smh.
@7 no I think it is about "living in the kind of place I would expect", once we read the "nasty" part. Too bad.
IA, did you trigger "Lost Mode" to lock the phone and send them a personalized fuck you message? In the Find My Phone web page, though I don't know if it's available for all versions.
If only there was a way that photos were backed up to cloud within minutes of being taken, and a way to track the iPhone, and even disable it remotely if it were stolen.
They didn't steal the phone to use, they're going to sell it to their local pro dirtbag for $30. If the restaurant was closed (as cleaning the floors might imply), this ding-dong could face first degree burglary charges if caught (no likely) and prosecuted (less likely).
WTF? You figured, since this person is a criminal, he/she lives in an apartment. . .because criminals live in apartments?

Oh, if only.
