Wedding Band-It

Really? In this day and age and all the perennial Christmas media coverage (both local AND national) of people stealing unattended packages and someone orders gold bands and still has them sent to their unattended home. Frankly they are lucky they stopped at front door and even then I'm sure they are proactive enough to not have a home alarm system. I can't wait to see the MENSA geniuses this couple breeds.

1, you are a bit much. Despite all the media coverage, the chance of getting your package stolen from your front door is still very low. This box, since it is most likely unmarked, is much less likely to be stolen than all those Amazon boxes.

@1: There is a whole lot of media coverage of gun violence and I'm not walking around in a vest.
4
@1: Ain't any geniuses getting home alarm systems. It's essentially a really expensive way to pay someone else to call you and ask if they should call the cops. Cut out the middle man and the expense and call the cops yourself.

Also, home alarm systems go off all the time for dust bunnies and the cat farting. Cops don't take them seriously because it's the boy who cried wolf. They prioritize a home alarm somewhere behind the guy who calls 911 because Burger King forgot his chicken fries.

It's best to avoid QVC and deal with a reputable jeweler in person.

IA, Did you buy with a credit card? Many credit cards will reimburse you for losses. Try calling your bank. Sorry this happened to you. Did you file a police report? Also check the pawn shops and those stores that buys gold for cash. If you find them I think the police can get them back for you.
7
Sorry, man. That sucks.

What @6 and @7 said.

@9 - please contact @1.

@10- haha!

Who ships wedding bands without requiring a signature?

@12, did you read the article at all? The landlord signed for it.

OP: Your only option may be to sue your landlord. I don't think you should, but it may be the only way you recuperate your loss. Once a person signs for a package, they are assuming the responsibility of getting that package to you. Maybe you can have your landlord place packages inside your home from now on, as I'm sure she has a key.

@13: Anyone who sues their landlady for such a thing should not be getting married.
15
@2: Anything small and expensive like that is best sent to a reliable area, a package like that even conservative workplaces would accept without a fuss.

And yeah, creeps absolutely still steal from front porches in Seattle. My old apartment near downtown, some asshole would always leave the door open for hours when moving in/out and another would take the opportunity to clear out all packages, leaving me with more than a few gone before I left the building.

Thankfully Amazon replaced a few, there was nothing unique or meaningful, and some books were so nerdy that the person got mad and just threw it in the street a few blocks away.

guessing it was the same ass hole that cruises around our neighborhood checking door handles on the cars for a few dollars worth of other peoples items. can't wait till he tees my car and finds the tiny package of white powder in the ash tray..I am guessing once refigures out that he stole two bucks in change and snorted some drano that he will have second thoughts about his decision.

Doesn't it sound like IA was inside when this happened? If so, why would the landlady not hand it over personally? I'm thinking landlady should've texted and let IA get the package from her. Don't think IA should sue, but she kind of dropped the ball here.

Please wait...
