I am going to skip over the shock and blame parts because I am not that shocked and there are too many to blame.

Instead my mind has turned to the question of resistance. I don't think we need to wait for leadership to arise and show us the way.

Since the outcome pivoted on social media and swing states, I think the solution is to adopt a Red town in a Swing state. Find a blog in the red part of a swing state and start monitoring it and commenting to win back independent voters.

Facebook and Twitter won't work because they basically mirror people's mindset back at them. Find a high readership site in Waterloo Iowa or a similar town in Wisconsin, Michigan, etc and start the work of changing minds and hearts.

Each vote you win will count as two since it will mean one less red and more blue. 14,000 such votes could turn Wisconsin blue.

The only real interesting stuff on Facebook are cat videos.

Tbh, assuming that people can't do both (social media and fighting back) is pretty shortsighted.

But of course, by all means, however this is coming from the Stranger. I'd hope that "fighting" doesn't insinuate actual fighting.

About half of the country didn't vote. Both sides had the lowest turnout in 20 years. The prez was decided by 27% of eligible voters. Pathetic.

Just fuckin vote. And vote for one of the two in the race, not some fuck who lost the primary. 70% of the US lives in metropolitan areas, not rural. If people would just exercise their basic civic right to vote, namely in buttfuck MI, WI, and PA, we probably wouldn't be in this mess.

That's all people have to do. It's not that fuckin complicated. But go ahead and donate to some organization if you want. Just don't forget to not only vote, but make your vote actually matter in 2020.
