Why isn't this simply a comment on last weeks Anon.

I agree, SAD, is real. And coming from New England originally, I'll take the Pacific Northwest version of it every day over the New England version, where there's much less greenery and color in the winter and much more intense cold, snow, black ice.

Milder summers and winters, less humidity, dramatically reduced mosquitoes and gnats, yup, the PNW has got it going on, trust me.

Seriously, these latest I, Anons are amazingly representative of what The Stranger has become. Now eat your fucking Asian fusion noodle quiche from that trendy "pop-up" Tom Douglas restaurant where the waitstaff pays Tom to work because, well, he's Tom Douglas, and wash it back with some fairtrade organic fucking Chardonnay "curated" by a metro-sexual with a buzz cut and a beard.

I'm so SAD that I almost need to stop reading about SAD because it makes people awesomely SAD to live in a SAD place simply because of the weather. How SAD for those awesome people. It make so much sense these days and that is just plain sad! LOL

I love it here.

As someone who's lived in a variety of hot and cold climates, I actually consider the PNW's "never capable of killing you" climate to be the best available option. I mean, yeah, I miss the sun, but I don't miss blizzards or being drenched in sweat the minute I set foot outside, so... hey, nowhere's perfect.

This is why we have an opiate problem here. Now excuse me while I slit my wrists.

"Furthermore, for anyone who has lived outside the portion of the Pacific Northwest that is west of the Cascades, it becomes a year-round reality here"- not really, no.

Excellent defense of incessant complaining, anon. 10/10

@8: Yep.

Awesomely awesome.

I wish it was dreary and wet during the summer months. The best Gay Pride Parade? The first or second year when it was on Fourth Avenue and people were dressed in their TNF gear!

AWESOME!!!!!

Soft-ass punks.

This really doesn't seem like the sort of comment one should be afraid of being identified with.

SAD is a fact? Sorry - the science doesn't actually support that. What is a fact is that people who are depressed will blame it on the weather in the winter, but they are not actually any less depressed in the summer, they just blame it on other things. Don't take my word for it, though. Google "Traffanstedt Lobello Seasonal Affective" and read the results of their study of 34000 Americans.

Your humble server folk are not allowed to talk about the weather? What the frick else is there to complain about 🤔 😎 ☔️
