I, Anonymous: Me, My Son, and Your Kind Words to Carry Us Along
y favorite few hours every other Sunday is when I take my 4-year-old son to 5 Point Cafe for breakfast. We started doing this four months ago, after I decided to move out of the family house in the suburbs upon discovering that my wife was planning to leave me for someone else. You were the lovely older woman sitting with your husband next to us (I can only assume you were either tourists or really cool), and when my son stood up next your table to talk and say hi (something that he always does with mixed results in this city), you said that we were really lucky to have each other. Thank you for your kind comment, it really sunk deep. For the first time in years, I don't know where my life is going, but I am thankful that my son will be with me to share the ride.
