Tonight at Chop Suey, Berkeley, California's the Polish Ambassador (aka David Sugalski) brings his fetching, surprisingly funky, electronic dance pop to rouse you out of your Monday night malaise. He put out a damn strong album in 2006 titled Diplomatic Immunity; surely there's more heat where that came from.
Portland's Copy (aka Marius Libman) is making his quarterly Seattle visit, because this city can't get enough of his infectious one-dude-band shenanigans. Eric Grandy wrote this in The Stranger a while ago: "Copy takes Tetris to the discotheque, stacking beats and rotating melodies to build complexly interlocking electro jams." Truth. I've heard Copy do just that more than once.
Recess is the afterhours party monster's DJ of choice, but he competently keeps the dance floor active before 2 am, too, with smart, hyper, and eclectic selections for your malaise-evaporating clubbing pleasure.
