LoxSmith Bagels is the newest joint pop-up project from David Gurewitz (formerly of Lark and Spinasse; currently at Mamnoon), and Matthew Segal, the former owner of Lo-Fi performance gallery in Eastlake and Ground Control sandwich bar in Georgetown. The founders say they've "been sensitive to the upwelling of interest in the food and culture of our shared Jewish heritage," and "feel strongly that our concept is on trend." Segal and Gurewitz will be showcasing a variety of smoked fish alongside their bagels, and the sablefish signature bagel is already on its way to becoming a crowd favorite.
