I speak for the books of the late Dr. Seuss,
adapted to film way too long and too loose.
Like his classic The Lorax, which opens this week,
one week after critics like me got a peek.
Oh, the movie’s not awful as such movies go,
but it sure ain’t The Lorax Seuss devotees know.
It lacks the Seuss charm, the Seuss magic, and worse:
It’s just not the same without Seussian verse. (GOLDY)
