Retirees ride around Japan on motorcycles in this documentary that’s clearly targetting your heartstrings. The group—average age: 81—scoot along as voice-overs inform you that “no one is too old to realize their dreams.” (In case it wasn’t obvious that the director is going for a clichéd, Hollywood-schlocky feel, one of the grandriders is even referred to as “simple-minded and loveable.”) There are a few genuinely touching moments, but unless you’re desperately in search of a manipulative feel-good movie about old people triumphing against all odds, there’s not much to recommend here.
