Catwalk: Tales from the Cat Show Circuit

Documentary Films | 2018 | 75 minutes

SIFF Says:

In a world where one spontaneous hairball can throw everything off balance, and the toughest guys in the game have names like "Mr. Sandman," there can only be one true champion. This is the world of Canadian competitive cat shows. "Bobby," a stunning Turkish Angora, and his owner Kim have been a prize-winning team for years. Kim even has a room in her house covered wall to wall in ribbons—and not the ones Bobby can swat at—but ones he's earned by portraying an ideal temperament and impeccable grooming. Kim and Bobby are an unbeatable team, holding first place in the Canadian Cat Associate circuit. That, is, until Oh La La and her owner Shirley step back onto the scene after years of retirement. A veteran, Oh La La is a gorgeous Red Person with cloud-like fur and the most kissable squishy face. As they start to sweep up award after award, Bobby's place on the throne is put in peril. Taking us behind the scenes at several cat shows across Canada, CATWALK reveals the highs, lows, dramas and celebrations of a different type of pageant mom, and their little clawed competitors who seem pretty indifferent to the whole thing.
