There are two strong statements I want make in this brief note. One: The best film in the Blade series (1998 to 2004) is the second one, which Guillermo del Toro directed. Two: Blade II makes the list of del Toro’s best five films, and the fish-fucking one that did so well at the 2018 Oscars, The Shape of Water, does not. Yes, you heard that right: Blade II is much better than The Shape of Water. If you can’t live with this fact, how is it my problem? Blade II stars a pre-tax-trouble Wesley Snipes.
