• Fans of both Guns N' Roses and boats were in for a real treat when Duff McKagan was finally proclaimed the grand marshal of the Seafair Torchlight Parade on Saturday. He was knighted by the Seafair Queen and King Neptune and couldn't stop using the words "Grand Poobah" when describing his new position.

• Over the weekend, Oregon's own Faerieworlds festival opened with a ceremony in which hundreds of faerie enthusiasts held hands and danced around while admiring each other's costumes. Every flavor of faerie imaginable was in attendance, including slutty faeries (woo!), steampunk faeries (woof!), goth faeries (okay!), Woodstock faeries (uh-oh!), and Star Wars faeries (extra credit!). Villains, superheroes, vampires, and pirates were also spotted, as well as a mermaid in a tank of water. Psychedelic croon-bucket Donovan was the headliner for Sunday's final day of enchantment, and not a single person in attendance has used any word other than "magical" to describe his performance.

• Don't tell Jimmy Tamborello, but Fresh Espresso MC/producer P Smoov is reportedly working on a track with Death Cab for Cutie/Postal Service main man Ben Gibbard. This tidbit has stemmed from P Smoov's tweet last week: "Just made a pretty gigantic track. Where's @Gibbstack to sing the chorus? #dreams." Gibbard tweetsponded with "Call me!" This information has only caused that one song to get stuck in my head: Hey I just met you, and this is crazy, but here's my number, so call me, maybe?

• Rolling Stone took a break from its Men Who Rock issue (see: every issue) and selected six female-fronted bands and female solo acts to compete for the flip cover of its upcoming Women Who Rock issue. The issue is scheduled to come out in September, the winner featured on the cover, presumably in a bikini turtleneck with a sexy thoughtful headline pertaining to her butt/boobs/boyfriend craft.

• The Krautrock Tribute Night at Rat and Raven on Friday—featuring Midday Veil, Jupe Jupe, Terminal Fuzz Terror, and others—went so well, promoter Mamma Casserole has decided to host a part zwei, tentatively on October 20 at the Comet Tavern. If you want to play and think you can convincingly cover classic songs by experimental German rock bands from the late 1960s and '70s, contact Mamma at cometbooking@gmail.com.

• "Weird Al" Yankovic is scheduled to play Benaroya Hall on August 16, the exact opposite venue of the Puyallup Fair, where he played last September. Way to go, Al! Additional info from the press release unnecessarily stated, "The Seattle Symphony will not perform." recommended
