WEDNESDAY 10/8

BOOTS SO KINKY

I'll just bet that you had no clue that the musical Kinky Boots was based on real-and-for-true things that actually happened, now did you? Well, I am fairly certain that there was a lot less spontaneous bursting into song by Cyndi Lauper in real life, but still: drag performer saves the old family shoe factory by inspiring them to make custom fetish footwear instead of boring old wing tips, adventures in queer culture ensue! It's nothing if not a testament to the transformative power of drag queens, and with the book by Harvey Fierstein and the score by Lady Lauper, you could replace all the drag queens with coal miners and the thing would still be gay as goose eggs. And since it runs through October 26, you have no excuse not to experience the singy, pervy, booty magic of it all. 5th Avenue Theatre, 7:30 pm, $45–$115, all ages.

FRIDAY 10/10

THE VAUDEVILLIANS RETURN!

There has been a conspicuous and depressing lack of Jinkx Monsoon around our salty shores of late, but this month Seattle's premier Jewish narcoleptic drag superstar returns home with The Vaudevillians, fresh from a sold-out NYC run with her partner in criminally delightful theater, Major Scales. Do not miss this show. Seattle Repertory Theater, 7:30 pm, $47, all ages, through Nov 2.

SATURDAY 10/11

FREAKY PERVS, NO PICS PLEASE

Bottom Forty Interior III is a newish dance party featuring the formidable spinnings of DJs Wesley Holmes, Derek Pavone, and Nark, and bears this peculiar caveat: There is NO photography or taping allowed on the dance floor. Weird! Kevin Kauer of Nark Magazine tells me that it's so "people can feel more comfortable expressing themselves without having to worry," but I think it's because it's full of a bunch of SHAMELESS FREAKY PERVS and they just don't want any damn EVIDENCE. This is of course the best possible motivation to go. Kremwerk, 9 pm–4 am, $10, 21+.

THE LAST LUMBERTWINK

Fur, fuzz, and flannel fetishists rejoice! It's time to get down with your plaid self, for tonight brings the last Lumbertwink party you'll be seeing in Seattle this year. Featuring the ever-brilliant DJ Freddy, King of Pants. The Eagle, 9 pm, $5 in plaid/$7 otherwise, 21+. recommended
