For such a sedate band, Slowdive sure inspire a rabid following. The UK shoegaze-rock legends haven’t toured the States since 1992, so a whole generation of fans will be eager to catch their breezy, dreamy songs that create the illusion you’re floating higher than cloud nine while the most tranquil, understated voices coo sweet somethings in your ears. Most rock strives to jack up your adrenaline, but Slowdive’s stately tunes induce a hushed, awed stillness. Tonight will be a blissful revival meeting for the acolytes.
