Christ! Must we keep having to say goodbye to Capitol Hill? It's gotten really old at this point. With this possibly going, or being turned into a different type of club, what business closure is going to be the be the last nail in Capitol Hill's coffin?

^Fallout Records.

Will Seattle turn into all those other cities losing the cultural relevance of their neighborhoods to corporate controlled businesses and condos?

@2 Perhaps it's that I'm a certain age with certain interests, but that truly was the tipping point to me as well.

I have personally spoken with one of the new owners and he/she said they will not be keeping any staff. However they do plan on a major renovation and that Chop Suey will remain a music venue only.
6
Though I do feel bad for the staff being let go at least it's remaining a music club and not being turned into a Condo high rise.

I'm sure that "the_source" is a reliable "source," with that being their first comment on slog and all.

@7 - Good call. "The Source" registered yesterday and their first post was their comment above, so...yeah, thank you for joining Mr./Ms. Source (aka - the new owner of Chop Suey).

@3: It's already happening, one Amazon Prime membership at a time.

Heh. Maybe they'll bring in an actual sound engineer, some good speakers and the sound quality will improve, because the sound quality currently at Chop Suey SUCKS. That right speaker stack has been crackly for years.
