Granted, they were just a commercialized version of the Waitresses, but they had a decent sound.

@1 - Beside Beauty and the Beat coming out a year before the Waitresses first record, I'm don't really hear much music equivalency. The Waitresses were fun, but they were jerky, almost percussion-lead. Go Go's are all jangle and hooks.
