Really disappointed that they booked Dustin Kensrue—who was Mark Driscoll's right-hand man at the bizarre, hateful, misogynist, homophobic Mars Hill Church—to play at the new Chop Suey. Even though, thankfully, the weirdo evangelical church imploded in a spectacular haze of possibly-illegal financial dealings, we don't need to be reminded of that awful episode in Seattle history. Begone, hateful Mars Hillites!

Looks pretty good. It's nearly happy hour - who wants to meet me there for a drink?

@2 You're not supposed to go there Gurldoggie; it's being boycotted for being racist. Chop Suey is a derisive racist name, remember a few weeks ago right here in the Stranger slog.

if only it were a park, i'd go there and smoke

I used to rock the latch hook.

@1. I don't know how you could say by any stretch of the imagination that Kensrue was Driscoll's "right hand man." He was one of the few elders who called for action against Driscoll while still a leader at the church, and resigned shortly after. Maybe you have special knowledge.

This is well documented at Throckmorton's blog: http://www.patheos.com/blogs/warrenthroc…

Anyway, that bar at Chop Suey looks well-done. I am disappointed that Big Buck Hunter is showing up there, but at least it's not replacing a well-used pool table like at Linda's!

@1 Not all who were involved with Mars Hill were intolerant bigots such as yourself, you got a lot of growing up to do buddy.

Let's not invite Bertha, major downer.

Main room looks gorgeous! I'm a bit sad that the dragons in the front room got axed though.

@6 & @8 ...nice try, Mars Hill freaks! ...Seattle does not need people like you or evangelical weirdo Dustin Kensrue.

Please wait...
