Every oberst album was an immediate dedication of hours spent laying on my best friends floor contemplating life in the suburbs and trying to figure out why anything but love could possibly matter. You nailed that and I'm driven to dive back into the catalogue with the lense of age to examine it, but your take is such a comfortingly familiar perspective that it reinforces that sense of community and camaraderie you mentioned. Fantastically written piece!
