Not the biggest Macklemore fan but he’s talking about Gucci Mane’s (do you know who that is?) ice cream face tattoo not affording Gucci. Try harder.

It's not unheard of to be talented and, you know... an idiot.

I'm not a fan, so have no reason to defend him, but it's worth remembering that the "voice" of a song (or poem, or novel, etc.) is not necessarily the perspective of the writer. There is a long history of irony, unreliable narrators, in art.

If only the rest of us could be as perfect as bloggers.

Big Daddy Kane is anti-faggot and Ice Cube wanted to burn down Korean-owned businesses but THIS milquetoast cracker is problematic. Ok.

Came here to say what @1 said re: Gucci Mane.

I think his intentions have always been not to write about himself, but to write about all of us.
Kinda to get us to be aware of our own hypocritical behaviors.
But, only a Gemini can understand the spinning mind of another Gemini. Can't turn the thing off!!!!

The Firebreather lyrics are misquoted above, he's saying that the writers criticizing him are the ones doing the gentrifying. If this writer knew anything about Macklemore, she would have realized that immediately. This error, added to the Gucci Mane error previously pointed out, added to the complete lack of awareness that song lyrics, especially this guy's, are often tongue in cheek, make this post so very silly. Don't publicly criticize something you don't fully understand.

This was by far the most ignorant and baffling article I have ever read on the internet. You are obviously not qualified to speak on his art. You have a close minded approach and knitpicked and made things up that weren't there just to fill the page. You should be fired or given new topics because you dont have the brain capacity to dissect the beautiful art of music. I'm not speaking as a fan this article is pure garbage.

Please wait...
