Crew/label affiliations: "Carlile Room DJs, Corvus DJs & Pals, Box Dog Sound."
Styles played: "Funk, soul, R&B, old-school hiphop, jazz, rock."
DJing philosophy: "Mixing slept-on jams with songs that folks recognize. Curating sets for specific audiences is more of a science than an art."
Worst request: "Worst amusing request: a super drunk dude asking for Iggy Pop while I was blasting the Stooges after the last Temple of the Dog show. Worst hostile request: An older lady was super irate that no Bob Dylan ('at all?!') would be spun during a clearly labeled Soul Night. Then she said, 'You're the kind of DJ I don't like!' I tried to explain how my set is curated and that I can sometimes play requests, but since it's vinyl, there's a limited amount of choices. This is a major challenge in the Spotify age, but one we should face with humor, grace, and élan."
