First and foremost, congrats to Paurl. As an artist, I can appreciate the gravity of getting such a gig. That being said, I continue to scratch my head by the choices the city makes regarding the arts. Seattle is in serious denial about it's audience problem, which is one of the biggest impediments out there to artists and very little is done to address this. I hope this inspires the local music scene but I have serious doubts. Once again, congrats to Paurl and I sincerely hope he finds an audience and sustainability through this.
How many homeless kids could feed themselves and grow up to be far less impressionable / idiotic if they could play an instrument?
