Thanks for the article and info on the documentary. I saw Robert Fripp many years ago (1985 or thereabouts) performing solo at a very intimate venue in Rochester, NY. Small restaurant with a stage/dancefloor - wish I could recall the name. I was so close I could see the pock marks on Robert's face. Maybe 125 people total. Reading that he was so reserved and normally at the back of the band when performing with KC - I'm even more amazed.

Ten minutes into the performance, he said he'd stop playing unless we got up to dance. We complied. Been so long can't remember what the backup musicians were (or if any).

It was a night to remember although Peter Gabriel's first solo tour is the top memory for me from my youth.

Forgot to add that when Peter Gabriel took the stage, the reaction of the crowd was batshit crazy. I mean, the closest thing to 'crowd of humans meets God almighty as he takes the stage' I've witnessed in my life. Whenever I run across the concept of a musician attaining God like status, that's the first thing that comes to mind.

Belew's hair was falling out no matter what Fripp did or didn't do. Belew has been bald forever and is probably the most annoying member of KC ever. Don't tell my BIL I said that.

On the plus side, Toyah seems to have mellowed Fripp out during Covid.

Really interesting movie, I'm glad I saw this and was able to attend a screening. I've been a Crimso fan since my teens, have seen them live a couple times. Both were incredible shows

You've probably been told this already, but 'faggot' in 'Great Deceiver' refers to an English, normally fatty, meat dish. A healthy version (if that's possible) of the dish is being referred to. When the song was written, most people in these islands would have rarely, if ever, heard of the American meaning (cigarettes are, to us, 'fags').
