The predecessor to Auto-Tune was the vocoder, which was used for imteresting special effects way back in the day by some avant-garde artist types like Laurie Anderson.

Auto-tune has become the polar opposite to creative musical experimentation, being bastardized by a million no-talents to cover for their shitty lyrics, total lack of pitch perception and lousy singing.

An actual musician can hear this crappy sound polluting the airwaves from 1000 meters away. Any track that uses Auto-Tune now screams out:

"This ain't music, we can't sing our way outta a paper bag, avoid this pandering pop-tart shit like bubonic plague, before it rots your remaining brain cells away!!"

Please wait...
