Great piece, Charles. For more Belle Époque deliciousness, try Susan Graham's recording of Reynaldo Hahn's songs--Hahn and Proust were lovers for a time. And I have always felt that the "Andantino, doucement expressif" from Debussy 's String Quartet (often found, rightfully, on the flipside of the Ravel) is the perfect distillation of a sweltering summer afternoon...
