This Dave Segal article about The Pop Group reminds me of the way critics used to write for the British music papers like NME and Melody Maker - a bunch of precious,pithy, and poor observations whose pretentiousness is found in the fact that the writer clearly thinks his essay about the group is far more important and intelligent than the music and group he is discussing...and, of course, they couldn't be more wrong.The music will live on and this stupid article is forgotten before anyone even finishes reading it.
