You pretty much nailed my thoughts. It's a tremendously well put-together and likable shtick that will take them far, but the heart-on-the-sleeve-ness is a bit overbearing and insincere. (And I say that as a Hold Steady and Mountain Goats die-hard.)

More power to them though - they'll ride that wave far.
