Lee "Scratch" Perry and the Upsetters

Scritti Politti next please!
If you think this is hot, try "The Return of the Super Ape" next! It's even better.
I'd say Roast Fish, Collie Weed and Cornbread is much more immediately accessible. "Throw Some Water In" is brilliant, and full of good advice.

Also "People Funny Boy" is an amazing weirdo pop single.
"Cloak and Dagger" is my favorite Lee Scratch Perry track.
"Super Ape" is more consistent, and features some of LSP's greatest riddims. It's successor, whilst being generally more uneven, features the tremendous "Bird in Hand"--an otherworldly rendering of the Hindi classic "Milte Hi Aankhein", Raj Kapoor's "Babul." One of the most haunting songs Perry (or anyone, for that matter) has ever done.
